Policies & Procedures

Initial Consultation

An initial consultation is required before any reservation of pet service will be confirmed.  There is no cost for the initial consultation.  Our initial consultation is simply for us to meet you and your pet(s), answer any questions, go over policies, and sign a service contract.

Reservations

Reservations can be made via phone, text, email or the contact form on the website.  Do not leave until you have received confirmation of your request.

Pet Visit Times

Walks/Visits are made between the hours of 6 AM and 10 PM.
In-home dog boarding is available

Holidays

$5 per visit/walk fee will be added on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas

Payment Policy

Acceptable payment methods are cash and check.  Checks must be written out to Lindy Lou Pet Sitting. Payment is due upon arrival of first visit.  
If payment is not made within 15 days, a 5% monthly interest rate will apply. If necessary, further action will be taken to collect the funds at the client’s expense.  
A charge of $20 will be incurred for returned checks.

Refunds and Cancellations

Unpaid services may be cancelled without notice, including prior to or during the service period.
Cancellation Charge Schedule effective 5/1/2013:

0-48 hours notice prior to any service, and/or Holidays:  Payment is charged in full (no refunds)

2-7 days prior to service: 20% of service total is due (80% refund)

8 days prior to service or more: No charge, refund in full.


Reservations are made to plan sitter availability to clients.  Therefore, clients returning home early will be required to pay for the reserved amount of time scheduled including travel time.  


House Key Maintenance & Returns

We will NOT lock the key inside the home at the last visit; if the client insists, we can leave the key hidden outside to avoid a key return fee. There is a charge of $5 for each key pick-up or return otherwise.



Vaccination Policy

In order to protect everyone, we request that all pets be current on their rabies vaccinations, unless there is a legitimate reason why the pet should not receive vaccines.  A current health record from the veterinarian must be on file.

Pet Identification

All pets under our care should wear some form of identification if they will be let outside of the home.  If the owner chooses to not put an ID tag on their pet, they are doing so at their own risk.



Leash Walking/ Fenced Yards

All dogs will be kept on a leash unless we are inside an off-leash dog park or in the client’s fenced yard. Dogs will not be let off leash unless the client approves.
We do not accept responsibility or liability for any clients’ pets that escape or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise, when instructed to leave the pets in a fenced-in area. This includes all types of fencing.



Late Returns

If you are delayed in returning home as scheduled, please notify us immediately. We will make every effort to extend your services as needed.
